Updated: Mar 15, 2024

These air fried chickpeas are a delicious and healthy snack that is both affordable and packed with nutrients. Chickpeas are low in fat and high in potassium. Not only are they a guilt-free treat, but they also make for a satisfying and filling snack thanks to their high protein content.

Ingredients:

- 1 can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed

- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

- 1 teaspoon cumin

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

- Optional seasoning options: chili powder, curry powder, ranch seasoning, etc.

Instructions:

1. Start by preheating your air fryer to 375°F.

2. Drain and rinse a can of chickpeas, then pat them dry with a paper towel. You want to remove as much excess moisture as possible to ensure a crispy snack.

3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Optional: You can also add in additional seasonings such as chili powder, curry powder, or ranch seasoning for added flavor.

4. Add the drained chickpeas to the bowl with the seasoning and mix well, making sure each chickpea is coated evenly.

5. Carefully place the seasoned chickpeas in the basket of your air fryer. Make sure they are spread out in a single layer to ensure they cook evenly.

6. Set the timer for 15 minutes and cook the chickpeas in the air fryer, shaking the basket every 5 minutes to ensure they cook evenly. You may need to adjust the cooking time slightly depending on your air fryer and the desired level of crispiness.

**These can be stored in an a container for up to 3 days, but they are best enjoyed fresh.
