High protein bars: Savory and sweet

Looking for a delicious and nutritious snack that satisfies both your cravings for something savory and sweet? Look no further than these homemade protein bars. Packed with the perfect combination of cashews, creamy peanut butter, tart dried cranberries, and indulgent chocolate, these bars are a must-try for any foodie. But what truly sets them apart is how easy they are to make. With just a few simple steps, you can whip up a batch of these mouth-watering treats and have them ready to grab on-the-go.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup granola

- 1/4 cup dried cranberries

- 1/4 cup cashews, chopped

- 1/4 cup chocolate chips

- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter ( or any nut butter of choice)

- 1/4 cup honey

- 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, mix together the old-fashioned oats, dried cranberries, chopped cashews, and chocolate chips. Set aside.

2. In a separate, microwave-safe bowl, add the creamy peanut butter and honey. Microwave for 30 seconds, or until the peanut butter is slightly melted and easier to mix.

3. Pour the melted peanut butter and honey mixture over the dry ingredients in the large bowl. Use a spatula or your hands to mix everything together until well combined.

4. Line a square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later. Make sure to press the parchment paper firmly against the sides of the dish.

5. Transfer the granola mixture to the lined baking dish. Use a spatula to press the mixture firmly and evenly into the dish. Take some more chocolate chips and melt in the microwave. Spread the chocolate on top then add cashews and cranberries. Finally, sprinkle the sea salt on top.

6. Place the dish in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours to allow the granola mixture to firm up.

7. Once the granola mixture is firm, remove it from the dish using the parchment paper overhang. Place it on a cutting board and slice into desired bar sizes.

8. Store the homemade granola bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Enjoy these high protein homemade granola bars as a quick and nutritious snack or as a pre or post-workout fuel!
